Tulum is a beautiful tranquil beach two hours south of Cancun. An ecological preserve, all hotels are run by solar power with generator back up.
There are a few all inclusives in the area but the real gems are the small cabana hotels that dot the beach. Each hotel has 5-8 cabanas, most with beach views.
Towards the end of the hotel zone is the home of Pablo Escobar, the infamous druglord. Converted into the hotel Mil Amores, this hotel is rich in native architecture and decor. this is the largest independent hotel in the area, capable of housing 75 people.
Next door to Mil Amores is a small group of rental homes and the 5 star restaurant of Tulum, Hechizo. Beyond the homes, is the environmental preserve, Si'an Kaan.
